Alison Duncan

Coach Duncan

Coach Duncan is currently in her tenth year as the Crown Point Head Volleyball Coach. She is a 2000 Andrean High School alum and previous AHS coach for five seasons; two as the varsity assistant and three as the varsity coach. As the head coach, Duncan won a sectional and advanced to the regional final each year. In 2008, her team won the NCC Conference which enabled her to collect NCC Coach of the Year accolades.

In high school she played for the Dunes Volleyball Club and went on to play at Saint Mary′s College Notre Dame. While there, she was a two year captain, 2 time most valuable player, conference player of the week, and selected twice to the MIAA All-Conference Team.

Coach Duncan has a Bachelor′s Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Valparaiso University. In 2012, she obtained TTT license in business through Calumet College of St. Joseph and finished her career and technical education license from Ball State University. She is excited to build a successful volleyball tradition in the Crown Point Community.

Her coaching philosophy is: I firmly believe that every season can be a successful season by simply staying on course. The desire to win, to get better, and to believe in eachother is something that I push all of my athletes to feel in all things that we do. A love for the game and a respect for teammates can make any group of young women reach goals that seemed once impossible.

Ashley Cosme

Ashley Cosme

Ashley is in her third season as an Assistant Varsity coach after spending the previous four seasons as the Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach. She is also a teacher in the science department at CPHS. Before coming to Crown Point, she was formerly a science teacher and Freshmen Coach at Portage High School. She also has additional high school coaching experience as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Port St. Lucie High School in Port St. Lucie, FL for two years, and the same role at Somerset Academy Charter High, Pembroke Pines, FL.

Coach Cosme has coached at Diamond Elite Volleyball Club, and also coached 16 and Unders at Treasure Coast Volleyball Club in Stuart, FL. She was also a volunteer coach at the University of Miami, Miami, FL.

She also has extensive playing experience, playing high school ball at Crown Point High School, where she was a setter and captain. She played club for Synergy Volleyball, and also for Dunes Volleyball Club. After high school, she went on to play collegiately at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, where she was a Defensive Specialist and Co-Captain of her squad. She also has extensive officiating experience, having served as a USAV Florida Region Official.

She states her coaching philosophy as: An athlete′s character is more important than their talent! My goal is to create well-rounded players on the court, as well as in the community and classroom. I strive to enhance the volleyball talents of my players, while developing their leadership skills, self-discipline, and work ethic.


Tori Welker

Tori Welker

Tori is in her fourth season as an Assistant Varsity volleyball coach as well as a teacher in the Exceptional Learners Department at CPHS. Before coming to Crown Point, she was an 8th grade volleyball coach and elementary teacher for Griffith Public Schools.

She played at Crown Point High School where she lettered Varsity all four years and broke the school record for most career aces. During high school she also played for Dunes Volleyball Club where her team earned bronze as well as a 5th place finish in two consecutive seasons at the Junior Olympics National Volleyball Championships. She went on to play at Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN as a defensive specialist. While there, her team qualified for the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships.

Coach Welker has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Indiana State University. She is excited to be back at CPHS and help the girls achieve their goals this season!

Coaching Philosophy: I am always open to innovative and new ideas while combining past experiences to provide guidance to my athletes. I hope to enhance their leadership skills and work ethic to create well rounded individuals on and off the court. I believe a positive attitude is everything!


Gabby Raspopovich

Gabby

Gabby is in her fourth season as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Crown Point high school as well as a teacher in the Physical Education and Health department. Before returning to Crown Point, she was formerly a PE teacher, 7th grade volleyball, and freshman girls basketball coach at Munster High School.

Coach Raspopovich played 4 years of volleyball at Crown Point High School, where she was an outside hitter and two year captain. She played for Dunes Volleyball Club during high school. After high school she went to play collegiately at Saint Joseph’s College for four years where she was an outside hitter, defensive specialist and two year team captain.
